Joining Style Compass

Anyone can create an account: sign in on the web or in the iOS app and follow the setup. Setting up asks you to connect Google Drive or Dropbox, where your wardrobe photos are kept (see below).

If sign-up is paused when you arrive, signing in adds your address to the waitlist instead, and we email you an invitation when there’s room. You don’t need to do anything else. If someone sent you an invitation, sign in with the address it was sent to.

Signing in

On the web and in the iOS app, sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a secure sign-in link sent to your email address — no password needed.

Plans and billing

Style Compass has a free plan, Free, and two subscriptions, Plus and Pro. Your plan belongs to your Style Compass account, so it applies on the web and in the app wherever you sign in.

  • Free trial: a new account starts with 7 days of Pro, with no card needed. The trial includes 5 try-ons. When it ends you move to Free; nothing is charged, and nothing you added is deleted. Each person gets one trial.
  • Plus and Pro: Free includes up to 50 pieces and 5 try-ons a month. Plus adds the stylist — Ask, personalization memory and style references, custom categories, Laundry day, up to 15 shuffles a day, up to 200 pieces and 10 try-ons a month — and your pieces always show the photos you took. Pro includes everything in Plus and adds Plan ahead, Studio photos, unlimited pieces and 20 try-ons a month. Settings → Plan shows what each plan includes and how much of each allowance you have left.
  • Subscribing: subscriptions are bought in the iOS app, from Settings → Plan, and billed by Apple. They can’t be bought on the web, but a plan bought in the app applies on the web too.
  • Cancelling: cancel in your Apple Account’s subscription settings — on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or Manage subscription on Settings → Plan in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your Style Compass account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds: Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases and makes the decision; we can’t issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Restore purchases: on a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, sign in with the same Style Compass account, open Settings → Plan and tap Restore purchases.

When a plan ends, nothing of yours is deleted. Studio photos you already have stay, and pieces over the new plan’s limit stay visible and usable; only adding more asks you to upgrade. On a plan without them:

  • Personalization memory and style references are paused. What Style Compass learned is kept and comes back when your plan includes it again.
  • Laundry day is cleared: every piece is back to clean. The setting itself is kept.
  • Custom categories are hidden, not removed: each piece in one shows under its built-in category until your plan includes custom categories again.

Wardrobe photos and storage

Your wardrobe photos are not kept permanently on Style Compass’s own servers. They live in a cloud storage account you connect and control — Google Drive or Dropbox, whichever you choose. Style Compass keeps only a private, signed-URL cache of your photos for fast loading in the app; that cache is never publicly accessible.

  • Connect: On the web, go to Settings → Profile → Photo storage and choose Connect Google Drive or Connect Dropbox. In the iOS app, go to Settings → Profile → Where your wardrobe is stored.
  • Switch providers: Once a provider is connected, the same screen offers to move your photos to the other provider. Style Compass copies every photo across first, and your originals are never deleted until the copy is complete.
  • Disconnect: In the iOS app, that same screen lets you disconnect a provider directly. On the web, connecting a different provider disconnects the previous one automatically as part of the move.

Notifications and personalization

Daily outfit reminders: on the web, Settings → Profile → Daily notifications turns reminders off for that browser. In the iOS app, Settings → Profile → Notifications has the same switch for that device.

Personalization memory: Style Compass only learns from your ratings and worn outfits once you turn this on. On the web, Settings → Stylist settings → Personalization memory lets you enable, pause, or clear it and add style references. In the iOS app, all of that is in Settings → Stylist settings → Personalization.

Deleting your account and exporting your data

You can export a copy of what Style Compass stores about your account, or permanently delete your account, at any time.

  • On the web: Settings → About has Export my data, and Delete my account under Delete account.
  • In the iOS app: Settings → About has Export your data, and Delete your account under Delete account.
  • Without signing in: see Delete Your Account for how to request deletion by email.

Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
