Consumer Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 18, 2026
Executive Summary
Bridgeform Studio LLC, the operator of Style Compass, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and transparency. Style Compass is currently a free Progressive Web App (PWA). This Consumer Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of information for users of Style Compass. We prioritize user control and data integrity, ensuring that your personal information is handled with the utmost care and in accordance with modern privacy standards.
Information Collected
To provide the full functionality of Style Compass, we collect several categories of information:
Accounts
When you create an account, we collect the necessary credentials and profile information required to manage your identity and personalize your experience within the application.
Photos
Style Compass processes photos uploaded by users. These images are used strictly for the purpose of providing style analysis and recommendations as requested by the user.
Location and Weather Data
We collect location data to provide contextually relevant recommendations. This information allows Style Compass to integrate real-time weather data into your style suggestions, ensuring that your choices are appropriate for your local environment.
Technical Data
We collect technical data related to your interaction with our services. This includes device information, IP addresses, and logs that help us maintain service performance, diagnose technical issues, and improve the user interface.
Cloud Storage Connection
Wardrobe photos are stored in a cloud storage account you connect and control — Google Drive or Dropbox, whichever you choose. When you connect Google Drive, we request only the narrow drive.file permission, which limits access to files Style Compass itself creates, not your entire Drive. Signing in to Style Compass with Google is a separate, more limited permission (your name, email, and profile photo) that does not grant any storage access on its own. Style Compass also maintains a private, signed-URL cache of your photos for fast in-app loading; this cache is never publicly accessible.
Personalization & Style References (Optional)
If you turn on personalization memory in Settings, we record bounded, user-scoped signals from how you rate and wear generated outfits — not raw photos — to improve future suggestions. You may also upload a small number of inspiration images as style references; these are stored separately from your wardrobe, are never written to your connected Google Drive or Dropbox, and are analyzed only for palette, silhouette, and similar styling attributes, never for identity. Personalization is off by default, and turning it off stops new signals from being recorded.
Stylist Chat
If you use the Ask feature in Studio to chat with the stylist, your conversation is not stored on our servers or included in your account data. It exists only in your browser for the current session and is cleared when you start a new conversation or close the app. Our server logs record only that a request occurred, its duration, and any error type — never your questions, the responses, or your wardrobe contents.
How Information Is Used
Information collected by Style Compass is used to:
- Provide and maintain the Style Compass service.
- Personalize style recommendations based on user-specific data and environmental context.
- Manage user accounts.
- Improve our algorithms and technical infrastructure.
- Ensure the security and stability of our platform.
Zero Data-Selling Pledge & Third-Party Infrastructure
Bridgeform Studio LLC maintains a Zero Data-Selling Pledge. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Payment processing (e.g. Stripe) is NOT currently active or collecting financial data. Any future payment integrations will be disclosed prior to launch.
To provide our services, we utilize industry-leading third-party infrastructure providers who are bound by strict confidentiality and security requirements:
- Vercel: Used for web hosting, Blob storage, and front-end infrastructure.
- Neon: Utilized for secure, serverless Postgres database management.
- Google Gemini Developer API: Used through a paid Google AI Studio account and an API key associated with an underlying Google project to analyze uploaded photos and generate style, garment, and outfit recommendations.
- Google Drive / Dropbox: Used to store your wardrobe photos in a cloud storage account you connect and control.
- Proxy-routed weather APIs: Used to provide weather-dependent recommendations.
Google Gemini Processing
Style Compass uses the paid Gemini Developer API service described above, not the unpaid API tier. Under Google's Paid Services terms, Google does not use submitted prompts, uploaded files, or generated responses to improve its products. Google may retain limited request data for purposes such as abuse monitoring under its terms. Style Compass does not represent this integration as zero-data-retention.
Data Security & Isolation
We employ robust security measures to protect your information. Our architecture is designed with data isolation in mind, ensuring that user data is logically separated and protected against unauthorized access. We use encryption for data at rest and in transit to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
User Rights
Style Compass recognizes and facilitates the following rights for all users:
- Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Export: You may request to export your data in a structured, commonly used format for use with other services.
- Deletion: You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data from our systems.
Children’s Privacy
Style Compass is an 18+ beta and is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from people under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it from our records.
Policy Change & Product Evolution
As new features or integrations are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly to reflect the evolving nature of our product.
