Delete Your Account

Effective Date: August 23, 2026

You can permanently delete your Style Compass account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains both ways to do it, exactly what is removed, what is kept and for how long, and how to reach us if you no longer have access to the app.

Delete from inside the app

Signed in on web or in the mobile app, go to Settings → About → Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm and to choose what happens to the photos Style Compass created in your connected Google Drive or Dropbox — keep them where they are, or move them to that provider’s trash. Deletion happens immediately once you confirm; there is no waiting period.

Request deletion without signing in

If you cannot or would rather not sign in, email support@stylecompass.studio from the address on your Style Compass account and ask us to delete it. Include the email you used to sign in (Google account or the address you receive sign-in links at) so we can locate the correct account. We reply from the same address to confirm your identity before deleting anything, and we complete verified requests within 7 days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes, immediately:

  • Your wardrobe: every piece’s photo, description, and category.
  • Outfit suggestions, wear history, and anything you logged.
  • Personalization signals, style references, and ratings, if you turned personalization on.
  • Settings, styling priorities, and connected-account records.
  • The record of which version of our policies you accepted, and of any policy-change email we sent you.
  • Your Style Compass sign-in sessions on every device, including the native app, and any registered push-notification device.

Our private, signed-URL cache copies are queued for deletion in the same operation. If the storage provider is temporarily unavailable, Style Compass retries that cleanup hourly until deletion is confirmed. The temporary cleanup record contains only your account identifier and the private object address, stays server-side, and is removed with the confirmed copy.

Your wardrobe photos live in a Google Drive or Dropbox account you connect and control — Style Compass never owns it. At deletion you choose whether the folder Style Compass created stays exactly as it is, or moves to that provider’s trash. Either way, that choice is about your own cloud storage, not ours; we do not retain a copy.

What is retained, and for how long

A small amount of data is deliberately not tied to your account and is not removed by an account deletion:

  • Feedback you submitted. If you sent us an idea, bug report, or question through the app, the content is kept so we can keep improving Style Compass, but it is disconnected from your identity — the record no longer points to any account.
  • Sign-in security records. Email sign-in links expire shortly after they are sent and are tracked briefly (with the requesting address and IP address) to prevent abuse. These entries are not linked to your deleted account and age out on their own; they are not used to reconstruct any deleted data.

Other than the temporary cache-cleanup record described above, nothing else about you is kept. Routine database backups our infrastructure providers maintain for disaster recovery roll off on their standard operational schedule; we do not use backups to restore or reintroduce data you asked us to delete.
